Sausage and Potato Soup

I've been neglecting to start this blog for far too long. Welcome to What We're Eating For Dinner, a blog where I post exactly that. I'll try to include recipes and nutrition info, but I don't really cook by recipe; I cook more by feel and taste so I'll do my best. I do use MyFitnessPal for weight loss, so recipe-sharing may become easier through it.

On tonight's menu:

A Sausage and Potato Soup made in my slow-cooker from stuff I had laying around the kitchen. Some Cream of Mushroom Soup, Cream of Potato Soup, cheddar cheese, baby carrots, potatoes, onion, sliced mushrooms, Italian sausage, milk, water, and spices.

I par-boiled the sausages before chopping them and the vegetables up, and dumping everything into the crock pot. My crock pot is 1.5 quarts, so I filled the end result with milk to top it all off.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese
  • Small can of Condensed Cream of Potato Soup
  • Big Can of Condesed Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1% milk, 3.3 cups
  • Sliced Mushrooms
  • 2.25 cups water
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 7 italian sausage links
  • 1/2 diced onion
Spices (use these or add what you got!)
  • Oregano, Salt, Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, 2 Bay Leaves, Dill Weed
Cook until the carrots/potatoes are tender. Maybe 6 hours on low, 3 on high?

Makes Six 1-cup servings or Nine 2/3-cup servings. Here's the Nutrition facts for 2/3 cup servings:
